The San Francisco 49ers have agreed to trade quarterback Alex Smith to the Kansas City Chiefs. Kansas City will trade its second-round pick in the 2013 draft - as well as another conditional mid-round pick in 2014 to acquire Smith from San Francisco. The 49ers now own 15 picks in the 2013 draft.
Cissna Park beat St. Anne 56 – 48 in the semifinals of the class 1A Sectional at Schlarman. Alex Rabe and Cole Hasselbring each at 16 points for the Timberwolves, who wait for the winner of the Salt Fork – Arthur Lovington game tonight to determine who they play for the Sectional Championship Friday night.

Hoopeston Area Youth Baseball will hold sign ups for Pony League, Major, Minor, Instructional League and T-ball at the WHPO Business Expo at the civic center on Saturday March 9th from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. and on Sunday, March 10th from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Children must be age 5 by Aug. 1st to participate in T-ball. Fees are $40 for T-ball and $60 for all other divisions. Family discounts apply.
