Andrew Shaw scored on a deflection in triple overtime to lift the Chicago Blackhawks to a 4-3 victory over the Boston Bruins in a wild Game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals. The game was the fifth longest in Stanley Cup finals history.

sad news….NASCAR driver Jason Leffler died after an accident Wednesday night at a dirt car event at Bridgeport Speedway.
The recently retired Jason Kidd was named head coach of the Brooklyn Nets.

• Hoopeston Area Head Soccer Coach John Klaber’s annual youth soccer camp will be June 17-19. You can learn more about the camp and Coach Klaber’s program at: www.cornjerkersoccer.com.
• Major League Soccer’s Chicago Fire will host a camp for ages 3-high school July 8-12. This unique opportunity brings professional soccer players and coaches to Hoopeston for individualized instruction. The camp fee includes a t-shirt, ball, and a free ticket for the player to a Chicago Fire game. Hoopeston Cornjerker football camp for grades 3-12 will be held July 22-25 at the high school practice field behind the bus parking lot. Grades 3-6 will practice from
