Here’s Your WHPO Summer Sports Minute…..


LeBron James’ triple double wasn’t enough as the San Antonio Spurs beat the Miami Heat last night 92-88 to win Game 1 of the NBA Finals.  Tony Parker led the Spurs with 21 points


The Blackhawks are one win away from the Stanley Cup Finals as Chicago beat the LA Kings 3 – 2 to take a 3-1 series lead. 


Oakland beat the White Sox 5 – 4 in 10 innings. 

The Cardinals beat the Diamondbacks 12 – 8.

• Hoopeston Area Head Soccer Coach John Klaber’s annual youth soccer camp will be June 17-19.  You can learn more about the camp and Coach Klaber’s program at:
• Major League Soccer’s Chicago Fire will host a camp for ages 3-high school July 8-12.  This unique opportunity brings professional soccer players and coaches to Hoopeston for individualized instruction.  The camp fee includes a t-shirt, ball, and a free ticket for the player to a Chicago Fire game.  Look up Hoopeston Area Youth Soccer on Facebook or contact Kathy Harding or Kevin Jett for more information.
• Cornjerker football camp:  New Year, New Team, One Dream.
Hoopeston Cornjerker football camp for grades 3-12 will be held July 22-25 at the high school practice field behind the bus parking lot. Grades 3-6 will practice from
9-11 a.m. Grades 7-12 will hit the field from 6-8 p.m. Cost is $15, payable to HAHS Football. Deadline is July 5. Extra t-shirts are $10. For more information, contact
