Roberta M. Spencer, 77, of Rossville, passed away at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Accolade Healthcare, in Paxton.
Mrs. Spencer was born on December 18, 1940, in Gary, Indiana, the daughter of Ernest and Leola (Lanham) Queen. She married Robert W. Spencer on March 25, 1961, at the United Methodist Church, in Rossville. He preceded her in death on June 19, 2001.
She is survived by three daughters- Maria (Brad) Reifsteck of Henning, Belinda (Richard) Roberts of Rankin and Loretta (Rob) Enlow of Champaign; one son- Anthony Spencer of Joliet; twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter- Coleen D. Spencer and two brothers- Larry C. Queen and Merle W. Queen.
Roberta graduated from Rossville High School. She worked as an EMT in Rossville for several years. Roberta was active in the USO and she enjoyed playing cards, dice, Jeep racing and was an avid Bears and Illini fan.
A Celebration of Roberta Spencer’s Life will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2018, at Blurton Funeral Home, in Hoopeston, with Pastor Matt Stump officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday and 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest following the service in Rossville Cemetery.
