Leonard L. Dale, Sr., 74, of Wellington, IL, passed away at 9:23 P.M. Saturday August 11, 2018 at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka, IL. He was born March 13, 1944 in Watseka, IL, the son of Harold Anderson and Ruby Alice (Roach) Dale. He married Connie Ogborn on June 15, 2011 at the Wellington United Methodist Church in Wellington, IL. She survives in Wellington.
He is also survived by one daughter, Teresa (Jeff) Rife of Hoopeston, IL; two sons, Leonard (Jane) Dale Jr., of Fort Myers, FL and Austin Dale of Okeechobee, FL; 6 step-sons, Joe (Amy) Rieches of Hoopeston, IL, Steve (Jill) Rieches of Oakwood, IL, James (Janelle) Bell of Hoopeston, IL, Rick (Mary Ann) Ogborn of West Lebanon, IN, Jim Ogborn of Wellington, IL and Doug Ogborn of AZ; one sister, Rena (Jeff) Gudeman of Wellington, IL; one brother, Danny (Dana) Dale of Thomasboro, IL; 5 grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren and two nephews, Billy Bruens and Steve Bruens Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Justin Dale.
Leonard attended the Wellington United Methodist Church in Wellington, IL. He enjoyed gardening and riding on the golf cart with his grandkids.
Per his wishes, he will be cremated. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday August 17, 2018 at Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston, IL, with Pastor Cathy Najmon officiating. Burial will follow.
