Rolland "Boppy" Eugene LeClaire, 82, of Danville

Rolland “Boppy” Eugene LeClaire, 82, of Danville, passed away at 6:29 a.m. Sunday, September 30, 2018, at home.

Mr. LeClaire was born on July 4, 1936, in Danville, Illinois, the son of Frederick and Armanda (Mullins) LeClaire.  He married Anna Falconer on June 10, 1962, in Rossville.  She survives.

He is also survived by one daughter- Dawn (Curtis) Smith of Cullman, Alabama; two sons- Tim (Anna) LeClaire of Danville and Brad LeClaire of Rileysburg, Indiana; four grandchildren- Blake (Laila), Brock and Brett Defenbaugh and Timothy LeClaire II; two great-grandchildren- Lucas and Sterling Defenbaugh; one sister- Ruth Ann McIntyre of Danville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister- Etta Mae LeClaire.

Rolland graduated from Danville High School, in 1954.  He worked at Teepak, as a chemical operator for 35 years, until his retirement in 1999.  He enjoyed traveling, tinkering around his house and listening to Elvis.  He was an avid Cubs, Bears, Blackhawks and Illini fan.  His greatest love was spending time with his children and grandchildren.

A Celebration of Rolland LeClaire’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 4, 2018, at Blurton Funeral Home, in Hoopeston, with Pastor Mike Harshman officiating.  Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.  Following services cremation rites will be accorded.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.  The family has entrusted the Blurton Funeral Home to assist them in honoring Mr. LeClaire’s life.  Memories or photos may be shared with the family on his everlasting memorial page at:  www.BlurtonFuneralHomes.com.
