Mary Timmons, 64, was born in Norwich, NY

Mary Timmons, 64, was born in Norwich, NY and passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 in Surprise, AZ.  In heaven to welcome her are her sister (Patty Liberatore), parents (Joachim and Frances Liberatore) and parents-in-law (Clyde and Celeste Timmons)

Mary grew up in a large, loving, close knit family in Norwich, NY.  She attended St Mary’s College in Notre Dame, IN and earned a degree in Chemistry.  She met her future husband, Paul, at the University of Notre Dame during their first week of classes and they have been inseparable ever since.  They married just after college and had three beautiful children.  Mary was a stay at home mom for many years, always dedicated, placing her family before herself.  She also volunteered extensively at church leading RCIA classes for many years in SC, CT and WI, and leading CCD classes in Mount Pleasant, SC, where she was the Director of Religious Education. She returned to working full time as an Events Coordinator for Catholic Charities in WI after her kids were grown.  She also served as the parish Secretary for Our Lady of the Lake Parish in Ashland, WI.  She enjoyed cross stitch, doing puzzles, reading and spending time with her family; especially her three grandchildren.  She was an incredible cook and a masterful baker, generously providing her talents to numerous charitable events and causes.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Paul; her sister Fran (Rich) Milanesi; her children Geoffrey (Kristi) Timmons, Michelle (Ufuk) Orhan and Andrew (Cassidy) Timmons; her grandchildren (Leyla, Joachim and Oliver).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2019, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, in Hoopeston, with Father Thomas Gibson officiating.  Burial will follow the service in Floral Hill Cemetery.
