Leslie Lee Crabtree, 65, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 1:12 P.M. Saturday April 18, 2020 at his home.  He was born April 12, 1955 in Danville, IL, the son of Clifford “Odell” and Dolores (Johnson) Crabtree.  His mother survives in Hoopeston, IL.

 

He is also survived by three daughters, Tonya Crabtree of Boswell, IN, Heather Crabtree (Jake) of Oxford, IN, and Lorina Crabtree (Justin) of Hoopeston, IL; one son, Leslie Burton of Hays, KS; two sisters, Charisse (Bob) Cromwell of Phoenix, AZ and Della (Dave) Lawson of Jackson’s Gap, AL; three brothers, Warren (Stephanie) Crabtree of Naples, FL, Tim (Amy) Crabtree of Raymore, MO, and Clifford “Cliff” (Michelle) Crabtree of Hoopeston, IL; seven grandchildren, Sean Phelps, Spencer Phelps, Carson Anderson, Kendall Anderson, Aerah Rice, Kylun Rice, and Kylie Postlewail; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Hamp and Della Crabtree; maternal grandparents, Leslie and Martha Johnson; father, Clifford “Odell” Crabtree; and one grandson, Shane Odell Anderson.

 

Leslie served in the United States Army.  He then worked as a contractor and meat cutter until his retirement.  He enjoyed volunteering his time at the Grant Township food cupboard.  Leslie also enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren.

 

Per his wishes he will be cremated, and a service will be held at a later date.

 

Memorials may be made to the Hoopeston Jaycees or the Grant Township Food Pantry.
