Leon Earl Caldwell, 77, of Hoopeston, IL

Leon Earl Caldwell, 77, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 3:39 P.M. Saturday July 11, 2020 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, IL.  He was born September 14, 1942, in Danville, IL, the son of Melvin and Vivian (Briggs) Caldwell. 

He is survived by two daughters, Tracey (Jon) Layden of Hoopeston, IL and Colleen Caldwell of Milford, IL; 6 grandchildren, Mason (Devin) Layden, Trey Layden, Conner Estes, Baylee Estes, Cale Estes, and Saylm Estes; and a special friend, Mary Anne Sorenson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Elaine Crozier.

Leon was a lifetime farmer until his retirement.  He was the past school board president at Wellington High School.  He enjoyed driving his corvette, riding his Harley, traveling, and gambling at the casino.  Leon also enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

Per his wishes, he will be cremated, and no services will be held.
