Marilyn Jean Hamilton Ervin Hall, 79, of Danville, IL, formerly of Rossville

Marilyn Jean Hamilton Ervin Hall, 79, of Danville, IL, formerly of Rossville, IL, passed away at 7:46 A.M. Wednesday November 30, 2022, at home. She was born on November 29, 1943, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Paul Franklin and Hazel Louise (Allen) Hamilton. They preceded her in death. She married Richard E. Ervin, and he preceded her in death on September 20, 1986. She later married Richard Hall and he preceded her in death on October 10, 2000.  

She is survived by one daughter, Tawanna (Leonard) Ervin-Gaston of Henderson, NV; two sons, Richard (Lynnette) Ervin Jr. of Danville, IL and Marion Ervin of Hoopeston, IL; one sister, Patricia (Ed) Cardwell of Catlin, IL; three brothers, Frank (Judy) Hamilton of Danville, IL, Tim (Angela) Hamilton of Arizona, and Kim (Wendy) Hamilton of Watseka, IL; 6 grandchildren, Dillon Ervin, Dalton Ervin, Kelbi Schnabel, Chelsea Weeks, Randi Sue Kincade, and Jamie Nightlinger; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

Marilyn graduated from Rossville High School in 1961. She worked at TRW in Hoopeston until her marriage and then became a housewife for 25 years. She later attended nursing school at DACC, graduating in 1988. She began her nursing career at Lakeview Hospital in Danville and later worked at the Hoopeston Nursing Home and Heartland in Paxton. Marilyn attended the Second Church of Christ in Danville. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals, University of Illinois basketball, and the Chicago Bears. She loved cooking and was known for her famous chocolate chip cookies and turkey soup. Marilyn especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and always made each grandchild’s birthday cake. 

A visitation will be held 2:00 – 5:00 P.M. Sunday December 4, 2022, at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday December 5, 2022, at the funeral home with Pastor Raymie Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in Rossville Cemetery.
