M. Eileen Vines, 96, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 5:00 P.M. Wednesday November 30, 2022, at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Living in Hoopeston. She was born on November 11, 1926, at home near Catlin, IL, the daughter of Ernie and Mabel (Truman) Winland. She married Robert H. Vines, and he preceded her in death in March of 2000.  

She is survived by one daughter, Robin Peterson of Hoopeston, IL; one son, Phil (Kathy) Vines of Hoopeston, IL; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her husband, Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, and 4 brothers. 

Eileen graduated from the University of Illinois and became a physical education teacher at Hoopeston school until her retirement. She was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Hoopeston. In her younger years, she loved playing sports with her children and neighborhood kids. Eileen also enjoyed traveling with her husband and spending time with her family. 

A visitation will be held 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Friday December 9, 2022, at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday December 10, 2022, at the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, 502 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. A private burial will be held.
