Donna Jean (McGee) Fowler, 83, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 10:10 A.M. Saturday December 10, 2022, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. She was born May 8, 1939, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Benjamin and Frances (Ray) McGee. She married George Harold Fowler on October 1, 1960, at St Anthony Catholic Church in Hoopeston. He survives in Hoopeston.
She is also survived by three sons, John Benjamin (Dawn) Fowler of Huntington, IN, Jason Daniel (Nina) Fowler of Chicago, IL, and Justin George (Ginger) Fowler of Grand Rapids, MI; one brother, William “Bill” (Susan) McGee of Hoopeston, IL; four grandchildren, Zoey, Logan, Graham, and Georgia Fowler; and five nieces and nephews, Chris McGee (Jennie Miskec), Kelly McGee (John Baker), Carol Baldus, Joe (Shirley) Sears, and Tommy Kellam.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mary McGee.
Donna graduated in the Class of ’57 from Hoopeston High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society. After marrying her husband, George, she became a homemaker, caring for her family. She attended the First Church of God in Hoopeston. Donna enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, and watching the Chicago Cubs and Fighting Illini.
A visitation will be held 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Thursday December 15, 2022, at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. The funeral service will follow the visitation and will begin at 12:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Carlos Sanchez officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.
