Marjorie E. “Marg” Gaddis, 88, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 5:38 A.M. Friday December 9, 2022, at her home at the Villas of Holly Brook Chatham. She was born September 22, 1934, to Pearl and William Cecil Baker. She married Curtis Leland Judy on June 8, 1952, and he preceded her in death. She later married Howard E. Gaddis on June 9, 1964. He survives. 

She is also survived by her children, Rita (Steve) Lindscott of Springfield, IL, Tammy (Keith) Hall of Springfield, IL; Jim (Kim) Judy of Ashley, IL, Vickie Gaddis of Hoopeston, IL and David (Penny) Gaddis of Hoopeston, IL; two sisters, Virginia Marquardt and Ruth Baker; brother, Wayne (Nancy) Baker; 5 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Catherine and Norma; and three brothers, John, William, and Howard. 

Marg was a homemaker. She also assisted with the family businesses, Gaddis Service and later, Hoopeston Monument. She was a member of the Chestnut Street Church of Christ in Hoopeston. She was also a member of the Hoopeston American Legion Auxiliary #384 for 50 years. Marjorie enjoyed playing bingo, euchre, doing word search puzzles, and spending time with her family. 

A visitation will be held 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. Saturday December 17, 2022, at Chestnut Street Church of Christ 709 E. Chestnut St. Hoopeston, IL. The funeral service will follow the visitation and will begin at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the church with Pastor John Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the Potomac Cemetery.
