Rhonda Lee Compton, 65, of Danville, IL, passed away at 1:52 P.M. Sunday August 13, 2023, at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, IL. She was born September 11, 1957, in Granite City, IL, the daughter of Robert and Dorothy (Barred) Hartzel. She married Carl Joe Compton on May 21, 1988, in Glen Carbon, IL. He survives in Danville.
She is also survived by her twin sons, Robert (Carey) Compton of Chenoa, IL and Joseph (Karena) Compton of Chicago, IL; one sister, Tammy (Tim) Stambaugh; one brother, Ron (Joyce) Champion; one grandson, Eliyahu Compton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Rhonda worked in retail at JCPenney and Meis and later became a retail buyer. She served as a volunteer for Danville High School band and show choir. She was an avid fan of Andy Griffith and enjoyed watching westerns. She also enjoyed doing word searches and Sudoku puzzles. Most of all, Rhonda loved her family.
A visitation will be held 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. Saturday August 19, 2023, at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. The funeral service will follow the visitation and will begin at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.
