Helen S. Miller, 85, of Hoopeston

Helen S. Miller, 85, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 9:25 P.M. Tuesday August 29, 2023, at Arbor Rose of Tolono. She was born September 23, 1937, in Hoopeston, IL, the daughter of Edgar and Ruth (Goin) Mullens. She married Charles D. Huddleston Sr., and he preceded her in death in 1985. She later married Donald Miller and he preceded her in death.

She is survived by one son, Charles D. “Charlie” Huddleston of Hoopeston, IL; two grandsons, Ryan (Jennifer) Huddleston of Oakwood, IL and Christopher (Andrea) Huddleston of Westville, IL; four grandchildren, Caleb, Landon, Eidan, and Rowan; three nephews, Brian, Gary Lee, and Mark Catron; and one special cousin, Sandy Pickett.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, JoAnn Baker and Lois Cox; and one nephew, Eric Catron.

Helen owned and operated her own hair salon, Family Style Beauty Shop, for over forty years. She also volunteered doing hair at the nursing home and funeral homes for families in need. She was a member of the Hoopeston Community Church of the Nazarene where she enjoyed helping in the kitchen.  Helen’s love was her work as she enjoyed her customers, many of whom she had known for years. She also enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family and friends. Throughout her life, Helen was a faithful servant to the Lord.

A visitation will be held 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Tuesday September 5, 2023, at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. The funeral service will follow the visitation and will begin at 12:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Tom McCann officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.

Memorial donations may be made in memory of Helen to the Hoopeston Community Church of the Nazarene, 402 E. Honeywell Ave., Hoopeston, IL 60942.
