Sheila Hardwick, 69, of Hoopeston

Sheila Jean (Irvin) Hardwick, 69, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 9:50 A.M. Wednesday November 8, 2023, at her home. She was born March 3, 1954, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Robert and Dovie (Cross) Irvin. She married Arthur Nelson Jr, on July 4, 1970. She later married Billy Joe Hardwick on December 24, 1987.  He preceded her in death in December of 2014.

She is survived by her mother, Dovie Fouse of Hoopeston, IL; two daughters, Lori Nelson of Hoopeston, IL and Ashley (Darrell) Turner of Hoopeston, IL; two sons, Aidan and Ethan Hardwick of Hoopeston, IL; a very special niece, Carrie (Nathan) Konieczki of Danville, IL; two sisters, Elaine (Todd) Crose and Donna (Paul) Strawser all of Hoopeston, IL; one brother, Nathan (Kelly) Irvin of Hoopeston, IL; three grandchildren, Amber (Clint) Wise of Missouri, Jake (Morriah) Nelson of Danville, IL, and Bobby (Ally) Kochell of Arkansas; five great-grandchildren, Rowan, Lakeisha, and Titus Wise, Matthew Kochell, and Jerzey Nelson; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a special nephew, Thomas Hardwick.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Irvin; her grandparents; two daughters, Carolyna Nelson, and Nickie Kochell; two brothers, Milton Irvin and Bobby Irvin; one sister, Bonnie Kay Moore; and her two husbands.

Sheila worked at The Coffee Cup in Hoopeston. She later worked at Schumacher Electric until her retirement. Her hobbies included spending time with her family especially her kids and grandkids, sewing, and tending to her flower garden especially her roses.

Per her wishes, she will be cremated. A visitation will be held 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Friday November 17, 2023, at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. The memorial service will follow the visitation and will begin at 12:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home, with Pastor Micah Mobley officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.
