Loretta “Darlene” Boils, 80, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 11:15 P.M. Thursday November 23, 2023, at her home. She was born August 18, 1943, in Hoopeston, IL, the daughter of Jessie C. and Bessie L. (Hamilton) Lane. She married James Russell Boils on June 16, 1962, in Watseka, IL. He survives in Hoopeston.
She is survived by one daughter, Melody Boils; three sisters, Bonnie (Bob) Ramsey, Juanita (Mike) Huffman, and Kimberly Hamilton; three granddaughters, April (Eddie) Jones, Lacey (Justin) Castillo, and Katie Houser; six great-grandchildren, Adasyn and Bricyn Jones, Alisyn, Maggie, and Kamryn Castillo, and Anasyn Bell; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Dennis and Terry Lane.
Darlene worked at Gulbranson, Howard Industries, and then Schumacher Electric for over twenty years. She later cared for her family as a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, taking care of others, and collecting pigs. Darlene especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and adored her dog, Jacksyn.
Per her wishes, she will be cremated, and no services will be held.
Memorial donations may be made in Darlene’s name to the Hoopeston Animal Rescue Team (H.A.R.T.), 901 W. Main St. Hoopeston, IL 60942 or to Learn and Lead Academy, 409 W. Washington St., Hoopeston, IL 60942, for something to place in the classroom in Darlene’s memory as she was always supportive of the children and spent a lot of time in the classroom and at programs/events held there.
