Larry J. Field, 74, of rural Wellington

Larry J. Field, 74, of rural Wellington, IL, passed away at 10:15 P.M. Thursday February 29, 2024, at his home. He was born December 19, 1949, in Danville, IL, the son of Thomas and Eleanor (Benbow) Field.

He is survived by one brother, Terry (Diane) Field of Daytona, FL; one niece, Mandy (Abe) Sangha of Lafayette, CO; one nephew, Travis (Cayla) Field of rural Wellington, IL; and five great-nieces and nephews, Issac, Norah, and Asher Sangha and TJ and Colton Field.

Larry graduated from Wellington High School and then attended Illinois State University where he received a bachelor’s degree in agriculture. After returning home from college, he began teaching Ag at Milford High School and later at Iroquois West High School. He was also a lifelong farmer, farming the family farm with his family. Larry was a member of the Wellington United Methodist Church. He served as past-president of the Ford Iroquois Farm Bureau for several years. Larry enjoyed golfing, watching baseball, and was a fan of Illinois basketball. He especially enjoyed socializing with his friends at dinner or over a cup of coffee at Henning’s Restaurant and most recently at Pit Stop Restaurant.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday April 5, 2024, at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. A private family burial will be held.

The family requests no flowers but suggests memorial donations be made in memory of Larry to the Hoopeston Area FFA Alumni, 228 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL 60942.
