Bineta Grogan, 96, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 10:16 A.M. Thursday March 14, 2024, at Accolade Healthcare of Paxton on Pells. She was born September 18, 1927, in Albany, KY, the daughter of Brownlow and Mae (Looper) Byers. She married Daniel E. Grogan on August 25, 1946, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dunnington, IN. He preceded her in death on August 9, 2009.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Grogan of Milford, IL and Paul Grogan of Hoopeston, IL; one sister, Ruby (Richard) Birkey of Hoopeston, IL; four grandchildren, Adrienne, Paul, Charlene, and Mary; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Daniel Grogan, Jr.; four sisters, and one brother.

Bineta worked at FMC as a janitor and later worked in the kitchen at Hoopeston hospital. She also worked at the Hoopeston Multi Agency for 18 years. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Hoopeston. Bineta’s hobbies included collecting butterflies and antiques.

A visitation will be held 11:00 A.M. – 12:45 P.M. Friday March 22, 2024, at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. The funeral mass will follow the visitation and will begin at 1:00 P.M. Friday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 423 S. Third St., Hoopeston, IL, with Father Ignatius Mulenda officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.
