Watseka Police Department News 10/4/18

Watseka Police investigated a single vehicle accident at 8:43 A.M. at the intersection of Fourth and Hickory on 10-03-18. According to Police reports, a vehicle driven by Rachel D Coley, 44 Watseka left the roadway and struck a fire hydrant, Coley told Police that she had become ill while driving, which caused the accident. Coley was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while license suspended. Damage was over $1,500. No injuries were reported and Coley posted bond on her citations.

 

Watseka Police arrested Patrick J Tiffany Jr, 45 Watseka at 3:00 P.M. on 10-02-18 for theft under $500. Tiffany posted bond and was released.

 

Watseka Police issued a city ordinance violation to Jose R Lopez, 31

Watseka at 11:30 P.M. on 10-01-18 for inoperable/abandoned vehicle.

 

Watseka Police responded to a report of a loose dog in the 300 block of W Victory at 8:52 A.M. on 10-03-18.

Police arrested Mark Depatis, 46, Homeless, in the 300 block of E. Walnut at 5:44 pm on an outstanding Iroquois County Warrant charging him with Burglary. He was transported to the County Jail where he is belng held.

Pollce responded to a Domestic Disturbance in the 200 block of E. Sheridan at 5:55 pm. Police responded to the 400 block of N. 5th In reference to Criminal Damage to Property at 7:18 pm,

Police responded to a suspicious person In the 300 block of E. Cherry St. at 7:19 pm,

Police responded to a Domestic Disturbance In the 300 block of N, 6th St, at 7:51 pm, Police responded to a hit and run accident In the 400 block of N, 4th St, at 8:56 pm. According to reports a 2012 Dodge Ram owned by Joy Norder, Watseka, was struck by an unknown vehicle while parked in that area.

Police responded to a female subject laying In the roadway at the Intersection of Fleming and Division at 11:45 pm. Police located her and she was released to a friend for the evening.

 

Police Investigated a suspicious circumstance at a business in the 100 block of N. Jefferson at 1:16 am. The building was found to be secured.

Police responded to the 200 block of Brianna drive at 3:05 am in reference to a subject locating illegal narcotics In their vehicle. Subject was an LJber driver and located the narcotics after dropping off several fares and returning home.

Watseka 4, Central 2 - Brennan Spracklin, Alejandro Dominguez, Ethan Keller and Erick Avelar all scored for the Warriors. Michael Ayres scored both goals for the Comets.

Grant Park 3, St. Anne 1 - Hayden Lehnert scored all three goals for the Dragons, with Derek Dumas assisting one of them. Troy Reynolds had five saves in goal.

Georgetown-Ridge Farm 2, Milford 1 (25-21, 23-25, 25-11) - Lexy Puetz had a team-high seven kills for the Bearcats. Kaylee Warren led the team with two aces and 20 assists. Sam Conley had 24 digs, while Maya McEwen and Hanna Boyer each had a pair of blocks.

Illinois Lutheran 2, St. Anne 0 (25-15, 25-23) - Brandi Chase and Kenzie Nicholson each had a team-high seven kills for the Cardinals. Chase also had a block and Nicholson had two aces. Lauren Emerson racked up 19 assists.

Milford 192, Cissna Park 197 - Milford's James Birch and Cissna Park's Dawson Savoree finished tied atop the medalist position, each shooting a 44. The Bearcats were rounded out by Luke McCabe's 48, Tanner Sobkoviak's 49 and Brady Marshino's 51. The Timberwolves were rounded out by 49's from Gavin Spears and Bailey Sluis and a 55 from Devin Hull.

Dwight 219, Watseka 225, Iroquois West 247 - The Trojans were led by Isabelle Schultz's 52. Kat Harms shot a 55, while Chloe Butterbralt and Kelly Deterding each shot a 56. Watseka's Natalie Schroeder shot a 47 and was medalist. Teammate Holly Wingren finished second with a 49. Allie Hoy shot a 64 and Hailey Noel shot a 65. The Raiders were led by 61's from McKinley Tilstra and Chelsey Medina. Georgia Curtis shot a 62 and Marissa Pool shot a 63.

indiana Volleyball

South Newton survived an upset bid by Seeger, escaping with a 19-25, 25-15, 22-25, 25-13, 15-10 victory. Madeline Whaley contributed 14 kills, 26 digs and four blocks for the Rebels (21-0). Regan Gariott and Avery Cole led Seeger (7-8) with 15 and nine kills, respectively.

Covington defeated Benton Central 25-20, 25-19, 25-10 - Ellie Fry had six kills and Audrey Strawsma issued 17 assists for the Bison (13-5).

Sara Rose led North White with nine kills and 26 digs in its 25-18, 25-17, 25-16 loss to Winamac.

Daphne Dobson had 12 kills for Rensselaer, which fell 25-11, 25-19, 17-25, 25-12 to Delphi.
