Traffic Accident (Minor Injuries)                        H17-2187

Unit 1:                  2016 TAO TAO Motorcycle driven by Zachary D Carter (16) (M) of Hoopeston.

Passenger:            14 year old Male of Hoopeston

Details:                 Unit 1 was traveling north bound on N 6^th Avenue when a groundhog about the area of W Honeywell Avenue ran out into the street in front of a car.  That unit slammed on its breaks to avoid the animal, Unit 1 grounded the bike to avoid hitting the unit that had stopped in street.  Driver and Passenger both sustained minor injuries and were transported to the hospital by family members for treatment.   Both Subjects were released afterwards. 

                             No tickets, Unit 1 was insured.

Arrested:              Dale E Simpson (27) of Hoopeston

Details:                 Subject was arrested on outstanding Vermilion County warrant.

                             Simpson was transported to HPD processed and later transported to

                             Vermilion County Sheriff’s Department to await bond.
