DUI Arrests
ASHKUM, IL- Illinois State Police (ISP) District 21 is reporting the arrest of and Ashley A. Phillips, 27, of Kankakee for DUI Alcohol and Terrance M. Lease, 32, of Watseka for DUI Drugs.
On July 27, 2017 at approximately 12:52 A.M., an Illinois State Trooper was dispatched to a single vehicle crash with injuries on I-57 southbound at milepost 319 in Kankakee County. The trooper arrived at the hospital and spoke with the driver, Ashley Phillips. Phillips showed signs of alcohol impairment. Phillips was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and issued citations for improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
On July 27, 2017 at approximately 10:58 P.M., an Illinois State Trooper was dispatched to a traffic crash with injuries on US 24 at IL RT 49 in Iroquois County. The trooper arrived at the hospital and spoke with the driver, Terrance Lease. Lease showed signs of drug impairment. Lease was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Drugs and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Lease was also issued citations for improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
Weekend Arrests
ASHKUM, IL- Illinois State Police (ISP) District 21 is reporting the arrest of Joseph T. Borrelli, 18, of Arlington Heights for Possession of Cannabis; Theodore R. Gilbert, 61, of Bourbonnais for DUI; Antoine C. Carter, 29, of Champaign for DUI; Mary K. Bartusiak, 47, of Beecher for DUI; Nadine B. Robinson, 59, of Chicago Heights for DUI; and Brad W. Weakley, 36, of Clifton for DUI.
On July 28, 2017 at approximately 4:33 P.M., an Illinois State Trooper was on patrol in Iroquois County. The trooper observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on I-57 northbound at milepost 292. The trooper stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, Joseph Borrelli. While speaking with Borrelli, the trooper could smell the odor of cannabis emitting from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed 627 grams of cannabis. Borrelli was placed under arrest and transported to the Iroquois County Jail for processing. Borrelli was charged with Possession of Cannabis over 30 grams, Delivery of Cannabis over 30 grams, and Possession of Drug Equipment. Borrelli was also issued a citation for speeding.
On July 29, 2017 at approximately 2:13 A.M., an Illinois State Trooper was dispatched to a single vehicle crash on IL 102 at 5000 W. Road in Kankakee County. The trooper arrived on scene and spoke with the driver, Theodore Gilbert. Gilbert showed signs of alcohol impairment. Gilbert was placed under arrest and transported to the Kankakee County Jail for processing. Gilbert was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving with a Revoked License. Gilbert was also issued citations for improper lane usage and parking on the roadway.
On July 29, 2017 at approximately 3:48 A.M., an Illinois State Trooper was on patrol in Iroquois County. The trooper observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on I-57 southbound at milepost 295. The trooper stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, Antoine Carter. Carter showed signs of alcohol impairment. Carter was placed under arrest and transported to the Iroquois County Jail for processing. Carter was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving While License Revoked. Carter was also issued citations for speeding, improper lane usage, and operating a motor vehicle with using an electronic communication device.
On July 29, 2017 at approximately 9:16 P.M., an Illinois State Trooper was dispatched to a car vs. bicycle crash on IL 50 at Amberstone Parkway in Kankakee County. The trooper was advised the vehicle fled the scene. The trooper located the vehicle and spoke with the driver, Mary Bartusiak. Bartusiak showed signs of alcohol impairment. Bartusiak was placed under arrest and transported to the Kankakee County Jail for processing. Bartusiak was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Bartusiak was also issued citations for leaving the scene of an accident, failure to give aid, failure to report an accident, driving recklessly close to a bicyclist, improper lane usage, and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
On July 30, 2017 at approximately 3:30 A.M., an Illinois State Trooper was dispatched to a single vehicle crash with injuries on IL 49 at 400 N. Road in Iroquois County. The trooper arrived at the hospital and spoke with the driver, Nadine Robinson. Robinson showed signs of alcohol impairment. Robinson was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Robinson was also issued citations for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and illegal transportation of alcohol.
On July 30, 2017 at approximately 9:39 P.M., an Illinois State Trooper was on patrol in Iroquois County. The trooper observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and cross the center line on 2900 N. at 1200 E. Road in Iroquois County. The trooper stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, Brad Weakley. Weakley showed signs of alcohol impairment. Weakley was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Weakley was also issued citations for speeding and improper lane usage.
