Open House Planned for New Hog Farm in Vermilion County

Illinois Livestock Development Group (ILDG) and the Illinois Pork Producers Association (IPPA) are coordinating an Open House for a new 8,200 head wean to finish hog farm for Carl and Jody Clark nine miles west of Rossville, Illinois in Vermilion County on Thursday, April 6.

 

The Open House will be held from 4:30 – 7:30 pm, with a ribbon cutting will be held at 5:00 pm. Attendees can tour the two 4,100 head wean to finish barns and enjoy a free pork sandwich, chips and a drink.

 

The farm is located at 5586 E. 3550 North Rd, Rossville, IL. It is about 9 miles west of Rossville and IL Route 1, or 3 miles east of IL Route 49 on 3550 North Rd, five miles north of Armstrong.

 

Neighbors, community members, fellow farmers, and anyone with an interest in learning more about modern swine production are invited to attend. Attendees can see the latest products and technologies for swine care and environmental stewardship. The event is free and open to the public.

 

ILDG is a coalition of Illinois ag groups committed to expanding and growing the livestock industry. ILDG members include: IL Beef Association, IL Corn Marketing Board, IL Farm Bureau, IL Milk Producers’ Association, IL Pork Producers Association, and IL Soybean Association checkoff program. Part of the on-going efforts of ILDG is to help tell the positive story of livestock in Illinois. One way to accomplish this is helping plan and coordinate Open Houses for new livestock farms.

Unit 1:                 Edwards, Beau J (37) of Hoopeston

Unit 2:                 Kayla Lamar (30) of Hoopeston         

Details:                Male driver of Unit 1 struck the driver of Unit 2, at Fourth and Penn and fled the scene.  The driver of Unit 1 was later apprehended and his vehicle was impounded.  Edwards was arrested, transported to HPD, processed on the above charges.  He was released after posting bond and given a court date.

Arrested:              Mathew M Minard (20) of Hoopeston

Details:                 Neighbor called police concerned about 2 dogs that had been

                             left in a car across the street for approximately 9 hours.

Owner of dogs was located at another address.  Dogs were taken into custody by Hoopeston Animal Control.  Owner of dogs, Mathew Minard was transported to HPD where he was released with a NTA in City

                             court.  Dogs will remain at Animal Shelter until after court date. Dogs

                             will be released to owner when fines are paid.

Details:                 Subject reported Wisecup was in the area of above, who she knew to

                             have an active Vermilion county warrant.  Warrants were

confirmed and he was transported to HPD where he was processed and later transported to the PSB.

Details:                 At the above time the complainant reported that person(s) unknown and without permission did knowingly cause damage to complainant’s vehicle.

Arrested:     Sheila Hardwick (63) Hoopeston female

Details:       Ms. Hardwick turned herself into HPD on an outstanding Vermilion County

                   warrant for Failure to Appear.  Subject was processed and released after

                   posting bond.  She was given a new court date.

Domestic Battery, Criminal Damage to Auto (over)                        H17-0819

Complainant:        23 year old Hoopeston female

Arrested:              Anthony Chandler (35) Hoopeston male

Details:                 HPD officers were called to the above location in reference to a domestic

                             situation.  Upon investigation, Mr. Chandler was arrested for domestic

                             battery and criminal damage to auto.  He was taken to HPD, processed

                             and later transported to the PSB in Danville to await arraignment.

 

Unlawful Use of a Weapon Arrest

Illinois State Police (ISP) District 21 is reporting the arrest of Corey Cooper, 18, of Belding Hot Springs, AR for Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

On March 22, 2017 at approximately 11:44 A.M., an Illinois State Trooper was on patrol in Iroquois County.  The trooper observed a vehicle traveling above the posted speed limit on I-57 northbound at milepost 292.  The trooper stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, Corey Cooper.  A subsequent probable cause search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 3 grams of cannabis and a loaded 9 mm handgun.  Cooper were placed under arrest and transported to the Iroquois County Jail for processing.  Cooper was charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Unlawful Possession of Firearm Ammunition.  Cooper was also issued a citations for Speeding and Possession of Cannabis.

Details:   HPD officers were called to the above location for the report of a civil
  disturbance.  Ms. Edwards was arrested on city charges, taken to HPD,
  processed and released.  She was given a city citation and city court 
  date.

Arrested: Zamora, Monica L (F) (38) of Hoopeston 
Details: HPD and Arrow Ambulance were summoned to the 800 block for a male subject laying in the street with injuries.  At the same time receiving calls from a hysterical female stating she hit him with her car due to a domestic issue going on.  Male was taken directly to Carle ED in Urbana for trauma injuries sustained in the incident.  Ms. Zamora was taken to Hoopeston Carle ED treated and released to custody of the police.  No condition of the male victim in the incident.  Ms. Zamora was transported to HPD, processed and then later transported to Danville to await arraignment. 

Driving While License Suspended, Operating Uninsured Vehicle H17-0772

Arrested: Stacy Watson (34) Hoopeston female
Details: HPD officers were called to the 300 blk of E McCracken for a welfare check
on Ms. Watson.  Upon arrival in the area, HPD located subject driving.  A 
computer check revealed that she didn’t have a valid driver’s license.  She 
was arrested, taken to HPD and processed.  She was later released on $200 bond,
given 2 traffic citations and traffic court date.
