Hoopeston Police Department Report 4-27-17

Fire Call

Time:          08:47 am

Location:    215 W Washington St. Building 6, Teasdale Foods Inc.

Details:       HFD responded to a request to check the Building 6 for Carbon Monoxide levels.

A source of issue (malfunction equipment) was located and removed from the building, plant personnel had exhausted the facility and levels were cleared.    All Units back in quarters.

Details:       HFD and RFD were dispatched for a field fire out of control. Both agencies responded with personnel and equipment.  Fire was put out and units cleared.

Details:                          Officers responded to a call for a physical altercation between a male and female at the above location.  Upon arrival Musk was taken into custody and transported to PSB to await arraignment.

Details:                          Officers responded to a call for a physical altercation between a female and another subject at the above location.  Upon arrival Ford was taken into custody, transported to HPD, processed and released on a city ticket.

Complainant:                  37 yo Hoopeston Female

Details:                          Officers responded to a call for a domestic situation at the above location.  Upon arrival the juvenile had left the residence. Investigation continues.

Hoopeston Police Department Report Weekend April, 21,22 & 23, 2017

Fire Call:    At 08:05 am Teasdale Foods, 215 W Washington Street,  had an activation of a water flow alarm on building 140 which the alarm system was supposed to be on testing.   HFD & HPD both responded to the alarm company request.     No fire or incident.

Details:       Dogs were running at large and was on the complainant property.   Citation was issued for City ordinance violation.  Court date set of City of Hoopeston Court.

Details:                 Hoopeston woman signed a complaint against Carswell after she

                             found his dogs on her property several times on this date unattended.

                             Citations were mailed to Carswell for NTA in Hoopeston City Court

Unit #1:                2007 Toyota Camry driven by Christina Tilman (44) of Rossville

Unit #2:                2005 Ford F150 driven by Lynn Barr (60) or East Lynn

Details:                 Unit 1 struck Unit 2 while Unit 2 was stopped at the intersection.

                             Both Units were traveling eastbound. No injuries or citations issued

Unit 1:                  2004 Dodge Truck driven by Eulalio Cantu (24) (M) of Hoopeston

Unit 2:                  Parked Unit 2007 Buick Sedan, Owner: Ryan K. Gunderman

Details:       At the above time HPD was made aware of a hit and run pickup truck that fled from the area and was being followed by a witness.  Officer was dispatched to the area of 6th street and E Thompson Ave where the unit was lost sight of.   Unit 1 was located in the 200 block E Wyman Ave and the driver was spoken to after being identified by the witness.

Details:                 33 year old Hoopeston female signed a complaint against

                             Carswell after her 2 dogs were found in her yard, making it

                             hard for her to let her own dog out in her yard. Carswell was

                             issued a Notice To Appear in Hoopeston City Court

Unit 1:                            Toyota 4-Runer driven by Kay Wright (64) of Hoopeston  

Property Damage:           Clothes Line Pole in Common Area

Details:                          The driver of unit 1 was observed by several witnesses that she struck the clothes line pole taking it down.   The driver fled the scene of the incident with heavy front end damaged.   Investigation will continue to make contact with suspect driver.

Complainant: 57 year old Hoopeston male

Arrested:        Mona Lisa Perez (31) Hoopeston female

Details:          HPD officers were called to the lobby of the police department regarding

                      a domestic incident that occurred at the above location.  Both complainant

                      and arrestee advised HPD officers that after a physical confrontation, the

                      suspect stabbed the complainant several times.  Both parties were taken to

                      Hoopeston Hospital to receive treatment for their injuries.  After being

                      released, Ms. Perez was brought to HPD, processed and later transported to

                      the PSB to await arraignment.

Arrested:              Michael E Pruitt Jr. (41) (M) of Hoopeston

Details:                 On the above time and date, the complainant came to HPD and reported that the suspect have abused her 11 year old child.   The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the PSB Danville to await arraignment.

Details:                 Officers were called to the above in reference to an OP violation.

                             Mr. Strawser was arrested, taken to HPD, processed, and later transported the PBS.

Details:                 Complainant contacted HPD when he discovered items had been taken

Complainant:  49 year old female

Arrested:        Beau Edwards (37) Hoopeston male

Details:          Complainant told HPD officers that Mr. Edwards had almost caused a crash

                      at the above location by not stopping at the 4-way intersection.  Officers

located subject, and a computer checked revealed that his driver’s license was     revoked.  Mr. Edwards was given 4 traffic citations and a traffic court date.

DACC Ag Day 2017

The Danville Area Community College Ag Club, with the support of area agricultural organizations, businesses and individuals, takes this opportunity to announce Ag Day 2017.  Children and adults, including farmers, will find a variety of events available to them on FRIDAY, APRIL 21 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the DACC campus.

 

A special feature of the day is a barbecue luncheon that will be served from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Mary Miller Gym.  Carry-out lunches are not available.  The luncheon will consist of a pork barbecue sandwich, applesauce, baked beans, potato chips, and milk or Pepsi and will be served for 50¢—the price the farmer usually receives for these products after producing and selling them!  Additional donations are gladly accepted.  The lunch is served by the DACC Ag Club, DACC students and staff, and local FFA chapters.

 

Other items of interest during the day include a barnyard petting zoo, pedal tractor pulls for the children, tractors and farm equipment displays, and a tour through the DACC Greenhouse. Schools that are bringing classes to the petting zoo and activities should call 443-8768 to make reservations.

 

Local FFA Chapters, DACC, local ag businesses and community organizations will have exhibits in the Mary Miller Gym.

 The public is cordially invited.  There is no cost except for the farmer’s price luncheon.

Cited Owner:        Carswell, Jordan C (M) (31) of Hoopeston

Details:       On the above time and date, the complainant contact HPD reference to 2 pit bulls attacking and killing livestock in their shed.  Complainant was positively identifying the suspect animals.  Notice to Appear was mailed to the owner of the property where the animals live.  The issue has been referred to the courts.

Details:       Home owner contacted HFD to respond and check out a carbon monoxide detector that kept sounding the basement area.    No Carbon Monoxide located and no one sick in the home.    Owner was suggested to get new batteries or new unit.

Details:                 HPD responded to the above on the report of someone trying to kick in a

                             door. After investigation Mr Cox was charged with the above, transported to

                             HPD, processed and released with a Notice To Appear in City Court.

Arrested:     Jennifer E Mehnart (33) of Rantoul

Details:       Vehicle was stopped and a computer check revealed that Mehnert did not have a valid drivers license.  She was arrested, taken to HPD and processed.  She was later released on an NTA, given a traffic citation and traffic court date.

Details:                 Officers responded to HAHS in response to a fight call.  Male juveniles were charged with the above, transported to HPD and later released to a guardian.

Details:                 Complainant came to HPD to report her purse had been taken

                             from her vehicle while it was parked at her residence.  Purse

                             was later located in a nearby alley by a subject who brought

                             to HPD.
