Hoopeston Police Department Report 09/22/19

Traffic Accident 

Time: 12:44pm

Location: 600 block of E. Honeywell

Unit #1: 1999 Chevrolet Carryall driven by Steven Coon of Hoopeston

Damaged Property: Ameren Power Pole

Details: Officers were dispatched to the above in reference to a vehicle that had struck an Ameren power pole. Once on scene it was discovered that the vehicle had left the scene of the accident. Once the vehicle was located Mr. Coon was taken to HPD, where he was cited for Leaving the Scene of Accident: Operating Uninsured Vehicle; and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.

 

Burglary to Auto H19-5150

Time:    5:26 am

Location:    619 E Chestnut St

Complainant:  33 year old Hoopeston female 

Arrested:    Jeffrey A Coss (53) Hoopeston male 

Details: Complainant contacted HPD when she discovered her van was missing.  Officers were able to locate the vehicle. Upon locating the van, the above male suspect was at the scene.    Mr. Coss was taken to HPD, charged with the above, processed and later transported to the PSB.

 

 

Domestic Battery                                H19-5156

Time:              12:30 P.M.

Location:        500 Block of E Honeywell

Complainant:        Sona L. Gillispie (43) of Hoopeston

Details:                             Officers were dispatched to the above area, for a report of battery that just occurred. After speaking with the above complainant she was advised that a report would be sent to the Vermilion County States Attorneys Office.
