Vermilion County Covid 19 update

Vermilion County adds an additional 2 confirmed COVID-19 cases.   We have 21 active cases.  (20 are home and 1 is hospitalized)
We have tested 6,000 people (5,936 were negative and 64 were positive).  We have currently tested about 8% of our population in Vermilion County.  For comparison, Illinois has tested about 12.7% and the US has tested about 10.2%

Our new cases appear to also be travel related.  It is imperative to spread the word of the risks of traveling.

Testing Locations:

OSF – only testing symptomatic individuals and pre-op patients through a doctors order
Carle – Testing employees, First Responders, and Carle Patients – you do not have to be asymptomatic
Aunt Martha’s – testing anyone – walk-in, no out of pocket costs, every day during regular hours.

Mobile Units – We are looking at getting COVID-19 mobile testing units here in Vermilion County at 4 locations.  We will have more information about that when they are scheduled and locations are secured.  It looks like the middle of July is our target dates.  More information to come.
