WHAT:                     Single Vehicle Fatal Traffic Crash                

WHERE:                   Georgetown Road near Lete Lane, Vermillion County

WHEN:                      June 20, 2021 at approximately 7:04 p.m.                            

VEHICLE:                Unit 1- 2011 Maroon Kia Sorento

DRIVER:                   Unit 1- Dianna Drake, 48-year-old female from Westville, IL – Transported by ambulance to a regional hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

 

PASSENGER:           Unit 1- 39-year-old male from Danville, IL - Deceased

 

PRELIMINARY:      Preliminary investigation indicates the following occurred: Unit 1 was traveling north on Georgetown Road near Lete Lane in Vermillion County. The driver of Unit 1 left the road to the right and struck a tree. The driver of Unit 1 was transported by ambulance to a regional hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Unit 1 passenger succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene. The Vermillion County Coroner will release the name of the deceased once next of kin notifications are made. This crash is still under investigation and no further information is available at this time.

 

CHARGES:               Unit 1 driver was cited for Improper Lane Usage.
