Edgar “Bud” Shaw, 74, of Tilton, passed away peacefully at 6:20 p.m., Saturday, June 2, 2018, at home with his family by his side.

Bud was born in Danville on April 23, 1944, to Edgar and Dottie Shaw.

He graduated from Danville High School, in 1962.  He worked as a Sergeant for the Vermilion County Sheriff’s Department, retiring after 20 years.  Later he was a driver at Auto Zone for 10 years and worked part time for 12 years at the Tilton Police Department.

On June 4, 1966, he married the love of his life Constance Garland.  She survives.

Bud is also survived by his mother-Dottie Davis; sister- Iris Magers; two brothers- Chris (Diana) Shaw and Ray (Joan) Shaw; two sons- Todd (Kristy) Shaw and Brian (Patty) Shaw; grandchildren- Haley and Jarrett Shaw, Ryan Marrow, Brent Shaw, Nicholas Grant and Hillary Colon; and great-grandchildren- Sophia, Brewer and Baylor Bott.

He was preceded in death by his father and infant daughter-Deana.

Bud enjoyed spending time with his family, racing, boating and fishing.  He served in the United States Navy and was a member of the Masons.  He will be dearly missed by all that knew him.

A Celebration of Edgar “Bud” Shaw’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2018, at the Central Park Church of Christ, in Tilton, with Pastor Darin Perkins officiating.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, at the church.  He will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park following the services.  Memorials may be made to Central Park of Church of Christ.  The family has entrusted the Blurton Funeral Home to assist them in honoring Mr. Shaw’s life.  Memories or photos may be shared with the family on his everlasting memorial page at:  www.BlurtonFuneralHomes.com.
