Terry Lee "Pappy" Polson, 69, of Hoopeston

Terry Lee “Pappy” Polson, 69, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 6:15 A.M. Friday August 3, 2018 at his home.  He was born April 10, 1949, in Lecta. KY, the son of Ollie and Marrianna (Gilpen) Polson.  He married Sharon Carl on September 23, 1988 in Fowler, IN.  She survives in Hoopeston.

 He is survived by two daughters, Lea Ryna (Tim) Glass of Corbin, KY and Teri Michelle (Jeff) Compton of Edmonton, KY; two sons, Mark (Tara) Polson of Monroe, GA and Matthew (Brandi) Carl of Danville, IL; one brother, James (Mary Jo) Polson of Hoopeston, IL; grandchildren, Maggie Polson, Jessica and Josh Huff, Andrew Shoemaker, Alex Shoemaker, Brittany and Timmy Ennis, Amber Glass, Corey and Robin Holcomb, Christy Harper, Mikael Holcomb, Sawyer Carl, Raegen Carl, Samantha Tull, and Anjoelina Anderson; great-grandchildren, Jacie Ennis, Eva Ennis, Karalyne Holcomb, C.J. Holcomb, Eliza Ray, Layla Ray, Easton Holcomb, Nathan Holcomb, and Izabelle Lee and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; stillborn twin sisters; and one grandson, Kaeden Lee.

Terry worked for Don Ervin for several years.  He then worked for ERH, Hyster, and most recently ThyssenKrupp Crankshaft Company.  He attended the Chestnut Street Church of Christ in Hoopeston.  Terry was a Hoopeston Jaycees member for many years, did volunteer work for the Hoopeston Animal Shelter, and he and his wife Sharon put on the fishing derby in Hoopeston for 20 years.  He enjoyed playing music, woodworking, fishing, and watching NASCAR.  Terry also enjoyed visiting with friends and family.

A visitation will be held 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Tuesday August 7, 2018 at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL.  The funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday August 8, 2018 at the funeral home with Rev. John Morris and Rev. Bud McMasters officiating.  Burial will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.
