Joan Eva Dugle, 83, of Hoopeston

Joan Eva Dugle, 83, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at her home on Sunday September 23, 2018.  She was born September 5, 1935, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Arthur and Eva (Petersen) Jiroch.  She married Roy E. Dugle Jr., on September 13, 1958 in Chicago.  He preceded her in death on June 4, 2014.

She is survived by one daughter, Lynn Wyss of Hoopeston, IL; three sons, Jeffrey (Janice) Dugle of Apple Valley, CA, David (Tiffani) Dugle of Hoopeston, IL, and Joel (Ronda) Dugle of Sahuarita, AZ; one sister, Carole (Phil) Mathes of Florida; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jon (Diana) Dugle of Cookeville, TN; sister-in-law, Frances Dugle of Deep River, Ontario, Canada; 10 grandchildren, Jordan, Kaaryn, and Riley Wyss, Corey, Kaylin, Trey, Kolin, Moriah, Garrett, and Tanner Dugle; two great-grandchildren, Payson and Liam Dugle; and four nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Steve) Cummer, Kimberly (Eduardo) Carreon, Eileen (Robert) Anderson, and Michael (Melissa) Mathes.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Kaaryn Dugle; and one son-in-law, Bradley Wyss.

Joan worked for the State of Illinois Unemployment Security until her retirement in 2004.  She served as a past secretary of her union, AFSCME Council 31 and was also a past president of the Hoopeston American Legion Auxiliary Post 384.  Joan enjoyed traveling with her husband and loved going to Disney World.

Joan’s family would like to give a special thank you to Misty Watson, Kathy Watson, Cody Wood, Travis Wood, Kim Wood, Sarah Wood, and Gail Klimas for their care and company to Joan throughout the years.

Per wishes, she will be cremated.  A visitation will be held 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Friday September 28, 2018 at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL.  A memorial service will follow the visitation and will begin at 12:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home, with Pastor Cathy Najmon officiating.  Burial will follow in the Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.
