Judith A. King, 74, of Hoopeston

Judith Ann King, 74, of Hoopeston, passed away at 6:14 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2019, at Carle Foundation Hospital, in Urbana.

Judith was born on June 18, 1944, in Hoopeston, the daughter of James and Ada (Dobkins) Gooden.  She married Ronald Francis King on May 2, 1964, in Hope, Illinois.  He preceded her in death on August 3, 2006.

She is survived by one daughter- Debra King of Hoopeston; three sons- Dwayne King of Hoopeston, Ronald (Dallas) King of Bloomington and David King of Hoopeston; seven grandchildren- Breyan (Kayla) Peterson, Caden Peterson, Abrianna Peterson, Teagan King, Kinzlee King, Laiken King and Kian King; three great-grandchildren- Gabriel, Isaiah and Noah; one brother- James Gooden Jr. of Hoopeston; two sisters- Peggy Vailes of Inverness, Florida and Phyllis (Vern) Williams of Rossville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son- Jason King, two sisters- Patricia Dooley and Pauline Kolman and special great-nephew- A.J Rhodes.

Judith enjoyed listening to Elvis, watching TV, especially QVC and spending time with her family, friends and pets.

A Celebration of Judith King’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2019, at Blurton Funeral Home, in Hoopeston, with Pastor Adam Taubert officiating.  She will be laid to rest following the services in Floral Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made in Judith’s name to H.A.R.T.  The family has entrusted the Blurton Funeral Home to assist them in honoring Judith’s life.  Memories or photos may be shared with the family on her everlasting memorial page at: www.BlurtonFuneralHomes.com.
