Kimberly S. Velliquette, 51, of Armstrong

Kimberly Sue Velliquette, 51, of Armstrong, passed away at 9:05 a.m. January 29, 2019, at her home.

Kimmy Sue was born on November 14, 1967, in Danville, the daughter of Harold and Nancy (Boten) Hines.  She married Brad Velliquette on December 5, 2009, at the Number 10 Church of Christ.  He survives.

She is also survived by her father- Harold Hines of Armstrong; two daughters- Kelsey (Jeremy) Jones of Gifford and Kourtney (Trent) Fermanich of Rockford; one son- Kody Newell of Armstrong; one grandson- Jordan Jones; one sister- Angie Lance of Potomac; two nieces- Brianna and Brittany Lance of Potomac; father-in-law- Bob Velliquette of Armstrong; and Aunt- Eunice Mumm of Sidney.

She was preceded in death by her mother- Nancy Hines and mother-in-law- Peggy Velliquette.

Kim graduated from Armstrong High School, in 1985 and she later attended DACC, where she graduated with her Associates Degree.  Kim worked as the Branch Manager at Longview Bank, in Royal.  She also worked as a floral designer at County Market, in Urbana.  She was a member of the Number 10 Church of Christ, PTK Honors Society and Illinois Certified Professional Florist.  She enjoyed working in the field with her dad, watching Hallmark movies, floral arranging, sewing, traveling, doing jigsaw puzzles and rocking her grandson while they watched tractor videos.  Kimmy Sue loved snow and Christmas was her favorite time of year.  She also enjoyed collecting Longaberger Baskets and finding VarageSale deals. She loved to watch the Chicago Cubs.

A Celebration of Kimberly Sue Velliquette’s Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 4, 2019, at Blurton Funeral Home, in Potomac, with Pastor Ted Rohde officiating.  She will be laid to rest following the service in Embury Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.  The family has entrusted the Blurton Funeral Home to assist them in honoring Kim’s life.  Memories or photos may be shared with the family on her everlasting memorial page at:  www.BlurtonFuneralHomes.com.
