Helen Lorraine Schieler, 90, of Hoopeston, IL

Helen Lorraine Schieler, 90, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 7:30 A.M. Thursday January 31, 2019 at her home at Autumn Fields in Hoopeston.  She was born February 9, 1928, in Pontiac, IL, the daughter of Clifford and Roe (Sedekum) Herbert.  She married Robert E. Schieler on October 16, 1947 in Honolulu, Hawaii.  He preceded her in death.

She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Tyler of Rankin, IL and Nancy Mason of Rankin, IL ; one daughter-in-law, Marie Schieler of Hoopeston, IL; one sister, Mary Tronc of Pontiac, IL; 7 grandchildren, Tricia (John) Freeland of Hoopeston, IL, Angela Schieler (Brian Street) of Sitka, AK, Robert (Dee) Schieler of Bloomington, IL, Cindy (Garry) Brown of Alvin, IL, Connie (Greg) Davis of Tuscola, IL, Tim Tyler of Paxton, IL, and Kellen Piffner of Seattle, WA; nine great-grandchildren, Austin and Caden Schieler, Reese Davis, Andrew Short, John Halley, Monica (Lucas) Wright, Marshall Dale, Kimberlin Oleynichak, and Beau Tyler; 3 great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jerry Schieler; two sons-in-law, Larry Tyler and Tom Mason; one brother and sister-in-law, Arthur (Ann) Herbert and one brother-in-law, LeRoy Tronc.

Helen was the bookkeeper for Galloway Machine Shop in Hoopeston until her retirement in 1993.  She was a member of the Hoopeston United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and going on church mission trips.

A visitation will be held 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Tuesday February 5, 2019 at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL.  The funeral service will follow the visitation and will begin at 12:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Cathy Najmon officiating.  A private burial will be held.
