William Franklin “Frank” West, 85, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 9:58 P.M. Friday May 10, 2019 at Accolade Healthcare of Paxton. He was born November 5, 1933, in LeFlore Wister, OK, the son of George Vestal and Nettie Elizabeth (Brand) West. He married Lois Christine Gentry on August 1, 1952 in Gobler, MO. She preceded him in death.
He is survived by one daughter, Marilyn (Joe) Handrahan of Mars, PA; three sons, Danny (Linda) West of Hoopeston, IL, Terry (Renee) West of Peotone, IL, and Phillip (Jodi) West of Goshen, IN; one sister, Jeanette West of Kennett, MO; 6 grandchildren, Shane, Amber, T.J., Kellie, and Phillip West and Chanelle Hawkey; 8 great-grandchildren, Jackson, Sophia, Hunter, Gavin, Bella, Norah, Charlotte, and Adelle West; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and one granddaughter, Amber West.
Frank worked for the Local 41 Laborers Union for 35 years, before his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and landscaping.
A visitation will be held 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Wednesday May 15, 2019 at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. The funeral service will follow the visitation and will begin at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery.
