Orfelinda “Orfe” Ybarra, 72, of Rossville, IL, passed away at 2:09 P.M. Saturday October 26, 2019 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. She was born May 25, 1947, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Hermilo and Merced (Contreras) Cantu. She married Ambrosio Ybarra. He survives in Rossville.
She is also survived by one son, Juan (Jessica) Ybarra; one sister, Odilia Vela; three sisters-in-law, Belia Cantu, Tacha Cantu, and Norma Cantu; three brothers, Felix (Mona Lisa) Cantu, Hermilo (Graciela) Cantu, and Eulalio (Alma) Cantu; one brother-in-law, Joel Solis; 8 grandchildren, Danny Ybarra, Alondra Ybarra, Ambrosio Ybarra III, Alexxus Ybarra, Nadiya Ybarra, Kyle Hargrove, and Sierra Deck; three great-grandchildren, Ralynna, Yanelli, and Luciano; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Ambrosio Ybarra Jr.; one sister, Olivia Cantu Solis; and four brothers, Jose Cantu, Victor Cantu, Adalberto Cantu, and Juan Cantu.
Orfelinda worked as a supervisor at Monsanto Seed Company which later became Bayer Seed Company. She attended St. Anthony Catholic Church in Hoopeston. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
A visitation will be held 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Friday November 1, 2019 at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. The funeral mass will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday at St. Anthony Catholic Church 423 S. 3rd St. Hoopeston, IL, with Father Thomas Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.
