Norman C. Absher, 65, of Hoopeston, IL

Norman C. Absher, 65, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 4:00 A.M. Sunday February 16, 2020 at the Gilman Nursing Home.  He was born January 11, 1955, in Danville, IL, the son of Haskel and Annis (Keen) Absher.

He is survived by his step-mother, Virginia Absher of Hoopeston, IL; half-sister, Julie (Al) Carl of Hoopeston, IL; one niece, Kayla (Mike) Bodensteiner of Hoopeston, IL; one nephew, Kasey Carl of Hoopeston, IL; one great-niece, Carlee Garrison; and two great-nephews, Carson Garrison and Keene Carl.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Annis Absher and his father, Haskel Absher.

Norman was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Hoopeston where he had previously sung in the choir.  He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching the Indianapolis Colts and Pacers, the St. Louis Rams and Cardinals, the Chicago Bulls, and the Fighting Illini football team.  His other hobbies included fishing and bowling.

A visitation will be held 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. Thursday February 20, 2020 at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL.  The funeral service will follow the visitation and will begin at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home, with Rev. Phillip Callahan officiating.  Burial will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.
