Martha Marie Bell, 80, of Rossville, IL passed away at 7:04 P.M. May 3, 2020 at Country Health Nursing Home in Gifford, IL. She was born January 14, 1940, the daughter of Earl and Pauline (Carrier) Strawser. She married Robert James Bell on April 27, 1960 in Watseka. He survives in Rossville.
She is survived by one daughter, Bobbette (Bert) Asbury of Penfield, IL; one son Marty (Lolita) Bell of Ashland, OR; two sisters, Ruth Brazel of Rossville, IL and Kathy Simpson of Hoopeston, IL; one brother, Robert Strawser of Rossville, IL; seven grandchildren, Dillon Bell, Lydia Bell, Pauline Bell, Ryan Asbury, Jamie Asbury, Joey Asbury, and Jessica Asbury; nineteen great – grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a dog, Eddie.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a son, William Daniel Bell, one sister, Linda Goodrum, and two brothers, Richard Strawser and Charles Strawser.
Martha worked at Gulbransen in Hoopeston and then later at Rantoul Products as quality control. She was a member of the Rossville Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and camping, especially to the Badlands.
As per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Due to the current health situation, a private family graveside service will be held.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Country Health Nursing Home in Gifford.
