Laddie H. Grimes, 83 of Danville formerly of Potomac

Laddie H. Grimes, 83, of Danville, formerly of Potomac, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2020, at home.

He was born on November 21, 1936, the son of Harry and E. Marie Grimes, who preceded him in death.

 

He was also preceded in death by his brothers John Grimes and twin, Larry Grimes.

Ladd leaves behind his loving wife of 45-years Diana Grimes, his two sons- Todd H. (Lisa) Grimes, Todd A. (Kim) Dalle and one daughter- Vickie (Dave) Hanson; ten grandchildren- TJ Dalle, Kevin Dalle, Austin Dalle, Bryce Dalle, Preslee Stahl, Erin Hanson, Matt Grimes, Max Grimes, Ben Grimes and Lanny Grimes; and two great-grandchildren- Quentin (Dalle) Selwyn and Wilder Dorsey.

Ladd was a kind and loving husband, father, and friend.  He loved golf, fishing, hunting and his grandchildren.  He loved coaching his grandchildren in all sports and let’s not forget he was a huge Cubs, Bears and Illini fan. 

 

A special thank you to his niece Misty Soler, who helped during his last few days.

Ladd will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

 

The Grimes family would like to extend a very special thanks to Transition’s hospice.

 

The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date.  Cremation rites have been accorded and he will be laid to rest in Wallace Chapel Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.  The family has entrusted the Blurton Funeral Home, in Potomac, to assist them in honoring Ladd’s life.  Condolences may be shared with the family on his everlasting memorial page at:  www.BlurtonFuneralHomes.com.
