Susan Margret Staton, 71, of Bloomington, IL, formerly of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 2:53 A.M. Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Presence St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee, IL. She was born September 19, 1948, in Cincinnati, OH, the daughter of Wilbur Beard and Mary (Unger) Beard Guse.
She is survived by two daughters, Jayme (Shane) Gallagher of Bourbonnais, IL and Monica (Greg) Duncan of Brookston, IN; two sons, Andrew (DeeDee) Staton of El Paso, IL and William (Brenda) Staton of Towanda, IL; one brother, Sheridan (Linda) Beard of Bloomington, IL; 8 grandchildren, Amanda (Kevin) Butler, Aubrey Staton, Reid Duncan, Madison Staton, Matt Drollinger, Chris Staton, Mackenzie Staton, and Wesley Staton; 1 great-granddaughter, Allysa Boggess; and 2 nieces, Regina and Sondra.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Irene; and one nephew, Jerry.
Susan was a homemaker. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, playing Bingo, visiting with family and friends, and always put others before herself.
Due to the current health situation, a private family graveside service will be held at Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston, IL.
