Beatrice "Bea" LaVoie, 81, of LaHogue

Beatrice “Bea” LaVoie, 81, of LaHogue passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at her home. She was born December 8, 1938 in Watseka, the daughter of Dorance M. and Ogreda (Gagnon) Tammen and they preceded her in death. She married Clarence “Ted” LaVoie on July 9, 1960 in Gilman and he preceded her in death on May 16, 2016.

 

She is survived by two daughters, Laurie LaVoie of LaHogue and Debbie (Gary) Kaper of Watseka; one granddaughter, Ashley M. (Sean) McQuinn of Watseka; two great-grandchildren, Shannon and Danielle McQuinn of Watseka; and three brothers, D.M. “Junior” Tammen Jr. of Gilman, Roy (Judy) Tammen of Rockford and Riley (Jody) Tammen of Atlanta, GA.

 

Mrs. LaVoie was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilman. Bea was a beautician and owned and operated Bea’s Beauty Shop in Piper City and later out of her own home. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, square dancing, floating in her swimming pool, wintering in Florida, and spending time with her family.

 

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at the Life Church in Gilman. A private memorial service will be held at a later time at the Life Church in Gilman with Rev. James Harkins officiating.

 

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

 

Arrangements are by the Knapp-Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman.
