Betty Marie Hertel, 91, of Paxton, IL, passed away at 8:15 P.M. Monday August 10, 2020 at Accolade Healthcare of Paxton.  She was born March 19, 1929, in Indiana, the daughter of Charles A. and Ophia Iona (Carothers) Cuzzort.  She married Charles Hertel and he preceded her in death. 

 

She is survived by one daughter, Cathy (Hertel) Moore and Rick Moore; one sister, Mary Teresa Norris of Hoopeston, IL; 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; Ray E. Cuzzort, Earl George Cuzzort, Dorothy Campana, Alta Dalton Cuzzort, Carrie Kelenhofer, Ronald E. Franklin, Barbara Roberts, Catherine Louise Troxel, and grandson, Ricky D. Moore. 

 

Betty was a homemaker caring for her family.  She was an avid reader, loved to go shopping, and enjoyed going out to eat with her family. 

 

A private family service will be held.
