Robert Louis "Bob" Lusk Jr., 83

Robert Louis “Bob” Lusk Jr., 83, of Rossville, IL, passed away at 7:45 A.M. Friday September 25, 2020 at his home.  He was born February 22, 1937, in Danville, IL, the son of Robert Louis Lusk Sr. and Alberta Mae (Felgenhauer) Lusk.  He married Shirley Ann Byers on November 25, 1956 and together they had 3 children whom survive: daughter, Jeannie (John) Zollar of Rossville, IL; and sons, Randy (Monique) Lusk of Rossville, IL and Michael (LuAnn) Lusk of Alvin, IL. 

He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Trisha (Allen) Willard, Amanda (Montrell) Hill, Jared Zollar, Tom (Amanda) Lusk, Jacob (Maci) Zollar, James Zollar, and Jenna Zollar; 10 great-grandchildren, Evan Willard, Emilee Furrow, Aubrey Furrow, Aryn Willard, Izaiah Lusk, Braydn, Faith, and Landen Zollar, Emma Zollar, and Colton Lusk and one more on the way; two great-great-granddaughters, Khadija and Charlee; and one nephew, Mark (Rusty) Anderson. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn (Forrest) Anderson; one great-granddaughter, Andi Mae Willard; and one nephew, Richard Anderson. 

Bob started his working career farming north of Rossville and then co-owned Lazy L Western Store in Rossville.  He co-owned Blue Boy Chemical Company in Henning and later became a fertilizer plant manager.  He later co-owned and operated P & E I Truck Lines Inc. in Rossville and CIM Trucking in Danville for several years.  Bob was very active in the Rossville community and had previously served as mayor of the Village of Rossville.  He was a past member of the Rossville Unit 237 school board and later was a member of the Rossville - Alvin CUSD #7 school board.  He was a member of the Rossville Commercial Club where he helped put on the annual fireworks display, helped with the annual Rossville horse shows, and truck and tractor pulls.  Bob was also a member of the FFA, the Square Dance Club, and the Moose Lodge. Later in life, he moved to Florida where he was a RV salesman.  After returning to Rossville, he served as a trustee on the Village of Rossville board.  Bob enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren especially teaching them about gardening. 

A visitation will be held 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Wednesday September 30, 2020 at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL.  A graveside service will be held at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday at the Rossville Cemetery in Rossville, IL, with Rev. John Franklin officiating.
