Jessica Lynn “Jess” Thorn, 43, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 2:04 P.M. Friday November 6, 2020 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.  She was born April 29, 1977 in Danville, IL, the daughter of Bruce Mitchell Schwartz and Mary (Cox) Jennings.  She married Michael James Thorn on December 5, 2005 in Danville, IL.  He survives in Hoopeston. 

She is also survived by her mother, Mary Jennings of Hoopeston, IL; step-father, Kevin Vogel; one daughter, Lydia Jean Thorn on Hoopeston, IL; four sons, Robert Dowin Wood Jr., Harley James Thorn, Chi Michael Pierce, and Ronald James Thorn all of Hoopeston, IL; one sister, Alisa Michelle (Paul) Sudlow of Bloomington, IL; two brothers, Joshua David Schwartz of Westville, IL and Aaron Michael (Andrea) Vogel of Fairmount, IL;  and several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; father, Bruce Schwartz; aunt, Teresa Pierce; and cousin, Andrew Ryan Coon. 

Jessica worked as an LPN at Asta Care in Paxton.  She enjoyed gardening, canning, listening to music, and attending concerts.  She loved taking care of her patients and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. 

A visitation will be held 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Thursday November 12, 2020 at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL.  A private family funeral service will be held with burial following at Flora

l Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.  We kindly ask that face coverings be worn, and social distancing is maintained by those who attend the visitation and/or service.
