Loraine J. Anderson, 99, of Hoopeston and formerly of Milford passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020 at Heritage Health in Hoopeston. She was born on December 19, 1920 in Milford, the daughter of Walter L. and Julie (Henke) Mathewson. She married George E. Anderson in Watseka on March 31, 1940 and he preceded her in death on August 14, 1998. In addition, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

 

Surviving are one daughter, Nancy (Ray) Langellier of Wellington; two sons, Lewis (Betty) Anderson of Hernando Beach, FL and Wayne (Donna) Anderson of Paris, TN; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

 

Loraine was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Hoopeston, Watseka American Legion Auxiliary, and Milford Household Science. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends, quilting, and crocheting. She was very proud to have made all of her grandkids a quilt or afghan.

 

A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 am on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Milford.

 

Cremation rites have been accorded by Knapp Funeral Home in Milford.

 

Memorials may be made to Milford Fire and Rescue or Milford Public Library.
