Harold (Harry) E. Copass, 74, of Gibson City formerly of Milford

Harold (Harry) E. Copass, 74, of Gibson City formerly of Milford peacefully passed away at 12:15 pm Saturday June 12, 2021 at his home. Visitation will be held 5:00-8:00 pm Tuesday June 15, 2021 at Rosenbaum Funeral Home in Gibson City. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday June 16, 2021 at the funeral home with Pastor Brent Zastrow officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Sibley. Memorial contributions may be made to Iroquois Memorial Hospice or to the GCMS Booster Club.

 

Harry was born October 19, 1946 in Tompkinsville, Kentucky. A son of Joshua I. Copass and Evie Inez Birdwell Copass. He married Beverly Cope on July 18, 1965 in Sibley.

 

Harry is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Beverly Copass of Gibson City. Proud father of two daughters Laurie (Fred) Sanford of Urbana and Deanna (Mike) Leitz of Gibson City. Five favorite grandchildren Kattie Killion, Joshua Killion, Jacob Atchie, Alex Hunt and Matthew Hunt and one precious great granddaughter LunaBella Killion. Two siblings Pam (Bob) Siler and Carl (Sally) Copass all of Glasgow, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents.

 

Harold was a successful seed production field man, first for Crow's Hybrid Seed Corn Company and then for Remington Seeds retiring in 2012. He was an avid University of Illinois Basketball Fan and loved watching his grandkids in all they did. Harry loved to spend time with his family and friends, rather eating DQ ice cream, watching basketball games, or enjoying dinner. Harry and Bev spent twenty amazing cruises together. He was always up for an adventure snorkeling, horseback riding, zip-lining and more. He holds a special place in the heart of many as he was always willing to help a friend with any needs. Harry was fiercely loved by his family and will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him.
