Thomas Weber, 76, of Normal

Thomas Carl “Vulture”, Weber, 76 of Normal, IL. formally of Hoopeston, IL passed away at 7:30 P.M. Saturday July 17, 2021, at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, IL. He was born July 26, 1944, in Danville, IL, the son of Carl W. and Margaret (Deffenbaugh) Weber. 

Mr. Weber is survived by one sister, Nancy (Roger) Pfingston of Bloomington, IN, one step sister, Carol Gammon of AZ, and several nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Joanne and Helen Marie. 

Thomas served in the United States Air Force from 1966-1970. It was during that time he did a tour in Beihaoa, Vietnam. He then enlisted in the reserve for two years. After serving his country, Mr. Weber then worked as a Union stagehand for Local #193 “International Alliance of Theatrical Stagehands and Motion Picture Machine Operators” for over 38 years. He also worked at numerous other places such as Conklin Players from 1975-1994 and Conklin Barn Two which was a Dinner Theater from 1995-2012. During 1994-1995 he was a Theater Tech in Branson, MO.  

Thomas enjoyed model railroading, trains, and the circus. In his younger years he helped run the Nickel Plate Railroad Register during the summertime, and for 17 years conducted the Rides of Rails. 

Cremation rites will be accorded, and a graveside service will be held on Monday, July 26, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. at Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston, IL with Military Rites being accorded by the Hoopeston American Legion Post #384.  

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. 

Memorials may be made to the Midwest Food Bank.
