Ronnie S. “Ron” Elliott, 75, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 2:35 P.M. Wednesday Sept. 1, 2021, at Paris Community Hospital in Paris, IL.  He was born August 23, 1946, in Urbana, IL, the son of Vencill and Blanche (Tobia) Elliott.  He married Wanda Isom on May 1, 1992, in Danville, IL.  She preceded him in death. 

He is survived by one daughter, Alice Russell; three sons, John Elliott, Ronnie Elliott, and David Elliott; one step-daughter, Sue Ponder; one step-son, Ryan (Jamie) Barker; 6 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his wife Wanda, he was also preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and two brothers. 

Ron drove a semi for Ravens Trucking for many years.  He served in the United States Navy.  He attended the First Baptist Church in Hoopeston.  Ron loved dogs, talking about semi’s, and watching westerns. 

Cremation rites have been accorded and a graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday September 22, 2021, at Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston with Pastor Adam Taubert officiating. 

Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
