Geneva Evelyn Thilmony, 88, of Rankin

Geneva Evelyn Thilmony, 88, of Rankin, IL, passed away at 2:40 P.M. Monday September 20, 2021, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Pontiac, IL.  She was born June 1, 1933, in Newton, IL, the daughter of Adam and Eileen (Keller) Frichtl.  She married James Thilmony at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church on November 27, 1951.  He preceded her in death.   

She is survived by two daughters, Margaret (James) Trost of Fairbury, IL and Therese (Ron) LeClair of Quarryville, PA; six sons, James (Anne) Thilmony of Cissna Park, IL, Steve (Kim) Thilmony of Paxton, IL, Mark (Janet) Thilmony of Brandon, FL, David (Mary) Thilmony of Rantoul, IL, Timothy Thilmony of Champaign, IL, and William (Dawn) Thilmony of Cooksville, IL; one sister, Mary (Terry) Lewis of White Heath, IL; four brothers, Myron (Roseanna) Frichtl of Paxton, IL, Donald Frichtl of Paxton, IL, Edward Frichtl of Paxton, IL, and Darrell (Mindy) Frichtl of Farmer City, IL; 25 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her husband, Geneva was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Jason Ky Thilmony, Jennifer Lee Probince, and Christopher Ford. 

Geneva was a homemaker, caring for her family.  She later worked at Caradco Window and Doors in Rantoul for 25 years until her retirement in 2006.  She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Hoopeston where she served on the Altar and Rosary.  She was also a member of the Ruddy Pinochle Club.  Geneva enjoyed camping, gardening, knitting, and traveling.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. 

A visitation will be held 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Thursday September 23, 2021, at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL, with a rosary service beginning at 4:00 P.M.  The funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday September 24, 2021, at St. Anthony Catholic Church 423 S. Third St. Hoopeston, IL with Father Thomas Gibson officiating.  Burial will follow in Rankin Union Cemetery in Rankin, IL. 

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or OSF Hospice 608 N. Ladd St. Pontiac, IL 61764.
