Thomas Wayne McLain, 68, of Bradenton, FL, formerly of Hoopeston, IL, passed away peacefully at 6:35 A.M. Saturday October 16, 2021, at his home. He was born January 10, 1953, in Danville, IL, the son of Lawrence James and Naomi Maxine (Lockhart) McLain. He married Pamela Louise Hall on May 29, 1976, at the United Methodist Church in Hoopeston, IL. Survived by his wife, Pamela Louise McLain of Bradenton, FL.
He is also survived by two daughters, DeAnna Lyn (James) Batts of Jacksonville, FL and Danielle Leigh (Dennis Walker) Williams of Bradenton, FL; one son, Davan Lucas McLain of Palmetto, FL; mother-in-law, Judy (Buddy) Francis of North Port, FL; four sisters-in-law, Penny McLain of Gilman, IL, Carol McLain of Chicago, IL, Valerie McLain of Molalla, OR, and Teletha (Diana Salinas) Hall of North Port, FL; 8 grandchildren, Jae’lyn Kierra Batts, Kyleigh Nicole McLain, Davan Lucas McLain Jr., James Allen Batts Jr., Alyssa Jade McLain, Ian Anthony Williams, Aleigha Desiree Walker, and Dennis Everton Walker Jr., and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; and brothers.
Tom worked as a truck driver and construction superintendent until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, playing poker, and doing carpentry work as he was a jack-of-all trades.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A visitation will be held 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Saturday November 13, 2021, at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. A memorial service will follow the visitation and will begin at 1:00 P.M. Saturday November 13, 2021, at the funeral home with Shawon Wise officiating. No burial will be held.
