Patricia Joan Burch, 84, of Hoopeston

Patricia Joan Burch, 84, of Hoopeston, peacefully passed away at 5:37 p.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at her home.

Mrs. Burch, or “Patty” as many knew her, was born on April 14, 1937, in Hoopeston, the daughter of Gerald and Alta (Pinnick) Wells. She married her childhood sweetheart, Floyd L. Burch on January 9, 1954, in Kentland, Indiana. They were together, until his death, on June 2, 2012.

She is survived by her four children- Susan Lambert of Hoopeston, Shellie Moser (Dale) of Hoopeston, Todd (Kimberly) Burch of Hoopeston and Abbie Brewer of Corinth, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; sister- Karen Sue (Gerald) Evans of Hoopeston; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law, 3 grandchildren and her sister-Sandy Brown.

Patricia loved Hoopeston. She had fond memories of working for Dr. Cuonzo in Hoopeston, and St. Anthony Catholic Church. She was an entrepreneur and was the owner/operator of the Halo House candy shop, in Hoopeston. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, where she was very active in the choir and Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed doing ceramics and she was very artistic. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, playing the piano and singing. She had lots of energy and enjoyed working around her house. Most of all, she enjoyed having her family around her and attending family events.

People loved being in the same room with her. She made every gathering special, just by being there and she was the person who never forgot to celebrate the accomplishments of others, however big or small. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Her family’s consolation is that she passed peacefully from this life, into the arms of her beloved husband and loved ones.

According to her wishes cremation rites will be accorded. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 10, 2021, at Floral Hill Cemetery, with Father Thomas Gibson officiating. The family has entrusted the Blurton Funeral Home to assist them in honoring Patricia’s life. Treasured Roots, in Hoopeston, is assisting with floral memorials. Condolences may be shared with the family on her everlasting memorial page at: www.BlurtonFuneralHomes.com.
